App Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 29, 2026

Pigeon respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Pigeon collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Pigeon mobile application, website, and related services collectively referred to as the “Services.”

In this Privacy Policy, “Pigeon,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to PigeonIt, the company responsible for operating Pigeon.

By using Pigeon, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account and Profile Information

When you create a Pigeon account, we may collect:

  • Your email address;
  • Your username;
  • Your Firebase user identification number;
  • Your profile photograph, if you choose to provide one;
  • Authentication and account-security information; and
  • Other information you voluntarily add to your profile.

Your password is processed through our authentication provider. Pigeon does not intend to store your password in readable form.

B. Photos and Image Information

Pigeon allows you to take photographs or upload photographs from your device.

We may collect and store:

  • Photographs you take or upload;
  • The date and time associated with a photograph;
  • The location associated with a photograph;
  • Technical information associated with the image; and
  • Information about lists or saved-location groups in which you place the photograph.

Your photographs are stored privately within your account. Pigeon does not currently provide a feature that allows users to publicly post or share photographs with other Pigeon users.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to photograph, upload, and store any image you add to Pigeon.

C. Precise Location Information

With your permission, Pigeon collects precise location information from your mobile device.

Pigeon uses this information to:

  • Save the location where a photograph was taken;
  • Display your saved locations on a map;
  • Create location markers associated with your photographs;
  • Organize and retrieve your saved locations; and
  • Provide the core location-based features of the Services.

Location information may include latitude, longitude, date, time, and related location metadata.

Pigeon does not collect precise location information unless you grant the application permission to access it. You may change your location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may prevent certain Pigeon features from functioning properly.

Unless Pigeon introduces a feature that clearly tells you otherwise, Pigeon does not continuously track your location while you are not actively using a location-based feature.

D. Device and Technical Information

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, including:

  • Device type and operating system;
  • App version;
  • Device identifiers;
  • IP address;
  • Login timestamps;
  • Crash reports;
  • Diagnostic information;
  • Security and authentication events; and
  • Information about how the application performs.

We use this information to operate, secure, maintain, and improve Pigeon.

E. Communications

If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, message, and any other information you provide.

2. How We Use Information

We may use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Authenticate your identity;

  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of Pigeon, our users, and others.

We do not use your private photographs or precise location information for third-party targeted advertising.

3. How We Disclose Information

Pigeon does not sell your personal information.

Pigeon does not currently share your private photographs, saved locations, or profile with other Pigeon users.

We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances.

A. Service Providers

We use third-party companies to help operate Pigeon. These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us.

Our providers may include:

  • Google Firebase, which provides authentication and related application infrastructure;
  • Supabase, which provides database, file-storage, and backend infrastructure;
  • Mapping and location-service providers;
  • Cloud-hosting providers;
  • App-performance, crash-reporting, and security providers; and
  • Professional advisers and customer-support providers.

These service providers may process information in accordance with their own agreements with us and their applicable privacy terms.

B. Legal and Safety Reasons

We may preserve or disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
  • Respond to a lawful government request;
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident;
  • Enforce our agreements and policies;
  • Protect the safety, rights, or property of Pigeon, our users, or others; or
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

C. Business Transfers

If Pigeon is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Any successor will be required to handle personal information in accordance with applicable law and the privacy commitments that apply at the time of the transfer.

D. With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide your consent.

4. No Sale or Sharing for Targeted Advertising

Pigeon does not sell personal information for money.

Pigeon also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms may be defined under applicable U.S. privacy laws.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by law.

5. Data Storage and Security

Pigeon uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include authentication controls, access restrictions, secure communications, database protections, monitoring, and the security tools provided by our infrastructure providers.

No storage system or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Services;
  • Maintain your account;
  • Fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy;
  • Meet legal, accounting, security, and compliance obligations;
  • Resolve disputes; and
  • Enforce our agreements.

Photographs, saved locations, lists, and profile information will generally remain associated with your account until you delete the information or delete your account.

When you delete information, copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or recovery systems. We may also retain limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, or protect legal rights.

7. Your Choices and Rights

A. Device Permissions

You can control access to your camera, photograph library, and location through your mobile device settings.

Removing a required permission may limit your ability to use certain features.

B. Account Information

You may review or update certain account and profile information through the application.

C. Deleting Photographs and Saved Locations

You may delete photographs, lists, and saved-location records through the features provided within Pigeon.

Deleting a photograph or saved location may also remove associated location information from your active account.

D. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Pigeon account through the account settings inside the application.

Account deletion is intended to delete or de-identify your:

  • Account and profile;
  • Photographs;
  • Saved locations;
  • Lists; and
  • Other information associated with your account.

Some information may be retained when required by law, necessary for security or fraud prevention, or temporarily maintained in backups.

You may also request account deletion by contacting us at pigeonitapp@gmail.com

We may need to verify your identity before completing a deletion or access request.

E. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have rights to:

  • Know or access personal information we maintain about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Request deletion of personal information;
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information;
  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising; and
  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

Pigeon does not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.

To submit a request, contact us at pigeonitapp@gmail.com.

Because Pigeon does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, an opt-out mechanism for those practices may not currently be necessary. We will update our disclosures if our practices change.

We use and disclose these categories for the business and operational purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Pigeon does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Pigeon does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing, maintaining, protecting, and improving the Services and other legally permitted purposes.

9. Children’s Privacy

Pigeon is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create or use a Pigeon account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or legal guardian who believes that a child under 13 has provided information to Pigeon should contact us at pigeonitapp@gmail.com

Pigeon should not be used to collect or store photographs or precise location information in violation of applicable law.

10. Third-Party Services

Pigeon may contain integrations with third-party services, including mapping, authentication, database, file-storage, and operating-system services.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and settings of those services.

11. United States Operations

Pigeon is initially offered to users in the United States.

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than the place where you live.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Pigeon changes.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date. If a change materially affects your privacy rights or how we use sensitive information, we may provide additional notice through the application, by email, or through another reasonable method.

Your continued use of Pigeon after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that the updated policy will apply to your subsequent use of the Services, to the extent permitted by law.
